TRIUMPHAL PROCESSIONS,
(Per Presa Association.) J Auckland, last night.
The Premier,- addressing a Meeting at Pukekohe, said’a rumor had been cirou* lated to the effect that Mr MoCardle, who was opposing Mr Massey, bad not received the support of the people amongst whom he had previously lived. This statement was absolutely untrue. Another statement, that Mr McOardle would retire. at the eleventh boar, also was untrue, There was a surprise in store for somebody, The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Premier and confidence in the Government; The;Premier.was sub*; sequently entertained at a largely-attended banquet. The Premier .speaks in Auckland to-night. • , ’ f At Pukekohe and Huntly the Premier s visits resembled triumphal processions. All Pukekohe the horse® were removed from his buggy, and the Premier was drawn by stalwart farmers from the railway station to the publio school, whers he addressed the children.
