The New Zealand footballers took easy honors at Oxford, where they were pitted against the best toam the University could put in the field. The visitore scored a victory by 47 points to nil, the men of the cap and gown being completely outoleesed, The matoh was played in brilliant weather, and attracted 10,000 spectators For the first quartor of an hour play was even, the University well holding their own. Later on their defence went to ■ piecos, and the New Zealanders had them sit their rneroy. Wallace (Wolliqgtoo) was again first to draw blood, getting across the line, and was followed by Hunter (Taranaki). Both trios were converted by Wallaoe. Before half-time Hanter, who was displaying exceptional < brilliancy, plaoed three more tries to his credit, and Mynott, (Taranaki) also notched a try. All attemplß at goal failed. The spell ended : New Zealand 22, Oxford nil. In the next spell Oxford were at once plaoed on the defensive, and tries were quiokly obtained, Booth (Otago) securing two, Wallaoe, Hanter, MoGzegor (Wellington), Roberts (Wellington), and Glasgow (Taranaki) pne each. A feature of the play was Wallace’s comparative failure to add the major points, he missing several easy shots. In two instances only in this spell did ho send the ball between the poßtß. No-side was called with the University still in the position of not having scored, while New Zealand had registered 47 (four goals from tries, and nine tries,
