SHÈP STEALING,

(Per Press Associates-) Oamaru, last night. It has just been discovered that sheepstealing on a pretty large scale has been proceeding in various parts of the district—and particularly on the Papakaio plain. Farmers mustering ewes and lambs for cutting and tailing found in several instances the ewes had disap peared, as many as 25 and 50 being lost ■on single farms.
