THE WAIAPU ELECTION
;To the Editor of the Times.)
Sir.—Your correspondent " Farmer’
jubilates' on tbe supposed inability of Mr Clayton to reply to Mr Lysnar’s letter, whioh appeared a little while baokin your columns. lam afraid that “ Farmer” has not read the Times very regularly, or be would, have seen a brief but sufficiently ample reply by “ Bush Lawyer” in your issue of Saturday, Ootober 17th. " Far* mer” taunts Mr Clayton with having vainly Baid he would make Borne of his opponents “ squirm.” Now I think it will be admitted by any nnprejudioed person present on the oooasion of Mr Clayton’s address in His Majesty’s Theatre that, although refraining from personalities, he even then made some of his political opponents " wince” a good deal to say the least of it.—l am etc.,
ADVANCE.
