’(To the Editor Gisborne Timea, Sir,-~As a oountry subscriber to your paper, I have been watching your columns to see if Mr Lissant Clayton replied to Mr W. D. Lyonar’s corrections of several of his prmoipa l remarks whioh he made at bis Gisborne meeting, bat so far Mr Olavi. : ton has not replied in yonr open oolumns. Afier Mr Clayton’s challenge at his meeting (according to the press reports) daring anybody to question any of his remark! and his readiness to prove them, his J silenoe struok me as strange, and it seems . ?JL lh n °, “ore strange when I read that he (Mr Clayton) was going to make a lot of Mr Carroll’s supporters squirm by his facts.
