MR H. H. WALL’S CANDIDATURE
{Special to Gisborne Times.) Tolago Bay, yesterday,
Mr H. H. Wall, tho Prohibition and
Opposition candidate, accompanied by tho Times’ special representative, arrived from Te Araroa at half-past 12 to-day, having ridden from To Araroa einoe yesterday, three changes of horses being required for tho journey. Tho road from To Araroa to Awanui was very bad—mud up to tho horses’ girths, and bush traoks had several times to be taken, Mr Wall delivered his sixth nddrose for
the week at To Araroa on Saturday evening, and wae accorded a splondid rooeption. Mr T. E. H. Hondorson presidod, and in introducing the speaker referred to the fact that sinco tho time that Mr A. 0. Arthur couteßtod tho seat against Mr Kelly, Mr Wall was tho first oandidato to addross tho electors at that place. Ho was sure Mr Wall would bo woll supported, and that he would bo accorded a patient and attontivo hearing. (Applause ) Mr Wall, in replying to the oliaimion’w remarks, said ho was Hurt) hit* visit would be followed by ono from tho Hon. James Carroll, and Mr Clayton might also omne aa far as To Antron Ho (Mr Wall) was running the election as tv temperance advocate, but his main object was to secure better remit* and bridges for the East Coast, (Applause.) lit* had been told that he would not he able to get through to To Araroa, but Ids presence there tli»l evening proved otherwise,
