Anglo-French entente was acclaimed at mony dinners. The toaßt of the Victory’s officers was drunk in silence ; also those who fell in 1805, friend or foe. The Marseillaise was received with cheers at Capetown. Admiral Seymour and Captain Mahan were guests of Britishers at a dinner : t 'Boston.
Bishop Stepney preached an impressive Nelson service at St. Paul’s. A representative of tho Sovereigns, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, members of the Government, the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs, and foreign naval attaches werß present, There were many puli-.i references to the occasion. The British and Foreign Sailors’ Society presented Admiral Togo with Nelson’s bust carved on the Victory’s timbers.
Cardiff has been created a city with a Lord Mayor.
