AUDIT ENQUIRY.
MR FISHER’S MOVE. (Fen Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Mr Jeilicoe, on behalf of Mr Fisbor, made an application in Chambers to the Audit Commission that subpoenas be issued to the Auditor- General, Secretary of the Treasury, aud other public officers to produce books and papers. Their Honors, in course of judgment, said : “ The Commissioners wifi issue a summons to any person named iib a witness to produce any vouobers which in the years 1903-1904 were issued in favor of Captain Seddon for payment to him at Christchurch out of the public aocount of a sum of between £7O and £BO or any other sum for the reorganisation of the defence stores, or for aay other sorvices, and all hooks, documents, ohtques, requ’sitions, and returns relating lo or in any wise referring to 6usb voucher. If the matter submitted to their Honors for iaquiry and report w«:e a malt r cap- j ablo of cotuiDg, and which bad actually como, before their Honors in 'ho ordinary exercise of their ju i‘djc ion in the Supreme Court, their Honors e-uld make no wider order f Vr the production of documents than this."
