In his Coastal address Mr Wall has been dealing very severely with several members of Mr Clayton’s committee, who he alleges have at several of his meetings used every effort to force him to resign. Concluding his reference to this subject at Waipiro on Wednesday evening Mr Wall stated : Then again what am I asked to retire for ? Is it for another professional politician without any stake in the coun try, with neither wife nor family. We have always looked upon our sitting member as more or less a professional politician, and we are not at all satisfied with him. Then do not let us make another mistake and put in a man without a substantial stake in the coun« try, and without a family to look after. We cannot afford to take risks.. The man with a wife and family and property to look after i» more likely to look after your interests than one without either, The one will have to break up his home and sell out, while the other cgn sell out and take his departure at any time, And I have the support of no-license prople—l need not tell you that that is a very large support indeed—quite enough to put me j at the head of the poll- The no-license I people do not want an orator. 'I hey want a man with pronounced principles, one who declares straight out which side'he is on. They can see through a ladder. Then I have the ladies with me, andfhey are supporting me right loyally, and ; the workmen are declaring for me everywhere I go. (Applause ) They belie'te in me. lam going to the poll, 1 ' (Applause.)

Tbo amount placed on the Estimates this year shows this. Tho members of tho Ministry show that they ace weak ana vacillating. Thoy pander to overy political breeze that blows.
