MR H. H. WALL ON THE COAST.
(Special to Times); Port Awanui, last night. At his Tnparoa mooting Mr Wall was questioned at aotno length upon tho question of honorarium. Ho said that as far as ho was individually concerned bo would be only too pleasod to go to Wellington without honorarium, bnt to make no payment at all would perhaps prevent working men from taking a seat in Parliament. Therefore he favored payment, and thought the smn of £2OO would be au adequate allowaooe to pay. Whilst admitting that the carrying of no-licenso would uot do away with siy grog-selling, he thought the latter would soon be overcome. When no lioenso was refused in the King Country, there was no doubt a large amount of slygrog selling, but sinoe stringont precautions had been taken by the Railway Department the traffic bad boon groatly diminished.
The candidate has made a good impression at all the ooastal townships, and has many promises of support both from Oppositionists and Prohibitionists. Mr Wall bad a good meeting at Awanni last night, and received a vote of thanks and confidence.
