(Per Press Association.) Whangarei, last night. The summer Council of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union will open at Canterbury Hall, Christohurch, on November Bth. Delegates will be present from all districts, and it has been deoidod to arrange an interview with the implement makers to discuss matters at length. Probably a special evening session will be held on one or more nights, so that the matter may receivo the fullest attention. Tho Appeal Court has disposed of all cases but a local one, which is expeoted to last several days, and this will not be taken till tho conclusion of the sitting of the Audit Commission. The Court has adjourned till Monday. Mr Huntley Elliot, Under-Secretary for Mineß, is about to retire oo a pension. At a meeting of representatives of the whole of the wholesale drugs trade in tbe colony it was deoidod to form a Wholesale Druggists’ Association of New Zealand. Mr Heaton, general manager of Kempthorno, Prosser and Co., was elected president,
