In the Assembly there was a stormy allnight sitting on the Liquor Bill, On the clause that no one employed in a bar shall be under the age of 16, a Government and temperanoo supporter moved to strike out age 16 with the view of inserting 18. Thiß was carried against the Government,

The Attorney-General declared that if the Bill were mutilated by the Government’s own supporters and the House in general, the Government would not take the responsibility, A heated disoussion ensued, intermingled with cries of “ Resign l ” The age was fixed at 17.
