THE EXHIBITION.
'(Per* Press 'Association.'); Ghristchurob, Saturday. The offioial weekly review of the progress of the New Zealand International Exhibition, states that at a meeting of the Horticultural Landscape Committee the question of holding a series of shows by the Horticultural Sooiety was discussed. It was deoided that an. application for funds should be made to the Finanoe Committee to enable the - proposed horticultural shows to be held, to take place at intervals during the progress of the exhibition. At a meeting of the Fine Arts Committee, a sub-committee recommended that a representative should be sent from the colony for the purpose of obtaining a loan of pictures in the United Kingdom and the Continent. It was deoided that the recommendation be adopted and forwarded to the Finanoe and Executive Committees for consideration. At a meeting' of the Transport Committee, the ohairman reported that in response to a communication with reference to a railway siding, Sir Joseph Ward had notified that tbe work would be putin hand at onoe. The question of limited means of bringing visitors to the colony was considered, and it was deoided to write to the Union Steamship Company and Messrs Huddart Parker, inviting them to meet tbe committee at a conference to disouss the matter. It was also deoided to write to other large companies trading , with the oolony, asking them what they were prepared to do to assist in bringing visiters to the exhibition.
