General Booth, when shown the questions asked by Mr Higgins jn the Federal Parliament of Australia, remarked: ‘■■There is a misunderstanding. I did not mako suoh a sweeping statement. I stated some time ago that one State in particular opposed me. I recently gave Mr Wateon speoial credit for his attitude on emigration." General Booth, interviewed by the Daily Chroniolo, said: “We are not yet ready or the ambitions of colonisation. When we have capital enough it will enable colonisation to proceed. It is now a question of emigration. The people are ready to go, but we want reasonable assistance from Australia or the Home Government,”
