Young Lyon himself is a full dark brown, with black point-. He was bred by Mr B. D. D. McLean, Maraekakabo, Hawke’s Bay. He bas got great substance, good bone and hair, is very active, and shows remarkably good temper. His young stook are showing great quality, and one of his two-year-old geldings took first prize at the Poverty Bay A. and P. Society’s Show, 1904, against five other geldings and fillies by well-bred stallions. There are a number of his young stock at work and proving themselveß to be good, staunch workers.
