Tiraaru, yesterday. Labor Day was observed as a close holiday here. The Mayor, Mr Craigie, having offered to plant an avenue of trees along the West Belt and to maintain it for thin years, a tree-planting ceremony took place to-day in the presence of a repreteotatin gathering. Children from the three town schools did their part in the planting, fe remainder being done by members of loot bodies and other prominent citizens.
