Palmerston North, last night. In the Supremo Court Robert Hamilton, alias “ Sydney Bob," was sentenoed to one year for the theft of 19 silver watohes belonging to a hawker named Michael Torrill. Two only of the watches have been reoovered. • ... ; In the S.M. Court Joseph Gowland, with several aliases, was charged with the robbery of £lB from the person of John Lloyd, He was oommitted for trial. On a obarge of the theft of a greenstone pendant he was sentenoed to three months’ imprisonment. New Plymouth, last night. The Supreme Court opened this mornibg before the Chief Justioe. There were only two criminal charges. William John Taylor, farmer, pleaded guilty to incest at Hawera, and was Bontenced to five years’ imprisonment. Dunedin, last night. The Supreme Court quashod the conviotipns of George Neill and Cecilia Furke, arising out of sly grog-selling in Ohalmerß distriot. The Crown offered no objection.
