Time 5.22 1-5, aiv. £9 2s, New Lynn Handicap.—Lunetta (Gray) 1, Disoovorer 2, Ben 8. Soratohed : War Ciond. Won by four lengths. Time 1.7 25, divs. £4 10s and. 17s fid. Welter Handicap.—Waikato (Speakman) 1, Luoreoe 2, Calle Iris 8. Scratohed : I Rookby, Trephine, General Average, and Soultmaid. Won by a length. Time 1.22 4-5, divs. £2 6s and 19s. Second Steeplechase. —Hinemoa (O'Oon-1 noil) 1, Major 2, Kanaka 8. All started. I Won by fonr lengths. Time 6.37, divs. I £6 17s 6d and £2 Bs. Grandstand Handicap, 1 mile. WANGANUI TRAINING NOTES. Special ito the Times. Wanganni, Saturday. The weather was fine for training operations this morning. Olanchattan was the first to get to work, covering two rounds, aad tho last five fnrloogs in fast time. Glenowlet and Gay Spark ran a mile together, the former finishing first in 1.47 2-5. Dannie Obiel went twice round, and the last five fnrlongs at a fast pace. Prelude spurted five furlongs, moving well, while Clifton and Queen Wes! ran five urlongs in 1.6. Boomerang and King Billy were associated in six fnrlongs, run in 1.20, the latter having tho best of the matter. Whakawehi did two rounds In fast time, and Gargoyle did the same dißtanoa at half paoe. Chasemah and Lass o’ Gowrie ran half a mile in 54sec, the latter finishing in front, but pnlltog up rather gingerly. St. Lyra, Wild Duck, Oassiopea, and Valkyrie gave a good exhibition of jumpiog over two rounds, the former showing to most advantage. Armiaties wn3 too good for Benmore over a mile, which he out ont in 1,50.
