The annual meeting of the golf council disoussed a proposal from the Wellington olub that the conditions of oharnpionsbips should be altogether rescinded, and the matter left in the hands of the council.
Mr T. Gould, representing the Wellinging olub and also the Hutt olub, the original senior club, moved accordingly... Mr Fisher, representing Otago olub, said his club would agree to this course, provided it were made part of the constitution that the championship be held alternately in the North and South Islauds. He moved an amendment to that effeot, and it was carried. The constitution was accordingly amended in that direction, and the senior clubs thereupon handed back the obampionsbip oup without any other condition. Originally there were four senior clubs, which had handed over the oup to the counoil on certain other conditions. .
