Mr Deakin has received the replies of all States, and has cabled General Booth: " Communicated your proposals to State Governments, who alone oontrol lands wheroupon emigrants can settle. I am pleased to inform you that there is general willingness to take advantage of tho opportunities you offer. Tho requirements sought are provision for tho approval of iqrbnding immigrants before their departure, and their prompt, efficient settlement on arrival. The Statos have communicated with their Agonts-Genoral the particulars of the land available, and directed them to confer with you. I assure you of the warm desire of this Government to co-operate in any movement whloh will result in the introduction of desirable settlers.”
