AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS.
DUNCAN BROTHERS TO PLAY
THE FINAL.
.(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last n’gbt, The New Zealand golf toamment, whioh was opened on Tuesday, was continued to day. Although the weather was somewhat cold, and one or two showers fell during the afternoon, there was a large tendance of spectators, The course was in very fair order. The only event of the afternoon was the playiDg off of the semifinals for the amatenr obampionship, J. 0 Boras (the Auckland cbampioD) met A. Dunoon (N.Z. champion for three years in succession), and A. H. Fisher (last year’s N.Z. obampion) met K. Duncan. A great deal of interest was manifested in the matches, whioh were keenly and evenly contested throughout. After a hard fought game A. Duncan defeated Barns at the 16th hole by 4 up and 8 to play, and K. Duncan beat Fisher by 1 up at the 18th hole. The winners ot the semi-finals are brothers, and ate members of the Wellington Golf Club,
