lington, well known in the eduoational world, baa been appointed principal of the Nelson Girls’ College. The Now Liberal Party has been compelled to abandon their project of addressing a meeting at Napier on Saturday next. The present intention of tho party is to speak at Gisborne on Saturday week. Mr P. J. O'Regan has decided to contest tho Wtl ingtou Central seat at the general election.
Mr Arthur Adame, whose literary works are familiar to hia ooontrymen, and who has aobisved success as a poet and novelist in both Australia and the Old Country, has joined the sta£E of the New Zealand X«wea as associate editor,
