<Fer Press Association.) , ,l ’ I Wellington, last night. The Oonnoil by 17 to 10 threw out Mr Laurenaon’s Divoroe Act Amendment Bill. The House met at 2.80. Mr Seddou gave notioe to move that for the remainder of tho session the House meet at 7.80 p.m. on Mondays. The Electoral Bill made further progress through committee.

EVENING SITTING,

The House resumed at 7.80.

In Committee on the Electoral Bill clause 151 was amended in the direction, of remitting the operation of the elaus* to mock ballot papers alone. Mr Harding moved a new sub*oiause to make it illegal to deliver to any person on the day of the poll or during the preoeding three days any “ memo.” telegram bearing on the election. The motion was lost by 40 to 24. At clause 124 Mr Harding moved that the number of Maori members bo reduced from 4 to 8.
