MR LISSANT CLAYTON’S CAMPAIGN.
Mr W. Lissant Clayton addressed a meeting of electors at Motu last Saturday night, and a meeting at Rakauroa on Monday night. Despite the bad weather and worse roads, both meetings were exceedingly well attended by eettlera and others. A chopping competition had been held at Motu on Saturday afternoon, and a number of tboso interested in it stayed on for tho meeting. Mr E. B. Thompson presided at Motu, Mr J. Hutohinson fulfilling a similar office at Rakauroa. At both meetings Mr Clayton had a very attentive hearing, and his trenchant oritioisms of the present Government and its adminis(ration were the signals for hearty and frequent applause. At the conclusion of both meetings, votes of thanks for his address and confidence in him as a suitable man to represent the electorate were acoorded to Mr Clayton with loud acclamation.
