The report stated that the membership had inoreasea 15,000. Resolutions were adopted urging Irishmen not to ottend as witnesses atthe I committeo of enquiry or furnish data whereon Mr Balfour’s proposals for a reduction of representation might be based ; also demanding amendment of the Land Act to secure compulsory purchase ; l and further affirming that, the denial of I the right to make out of public resources I adequate provisions for higher education I of the people was one of tbe most aisasI trous consequences of Britain’s governing Ireland.
Beceived 10.48 p.m., Sept 15. Mr Redmond, at a dinner in Dublin) said that old and personal issues must be abandoned. Nationalists’ present and immediate object was to eject the Government from oifioe. The Government would make a further attempt at redistribution, and would suooeed if confronted by a divided, weakened Irish party, As regards future developments, following the ejectment of the Government, no Liberal party of whatsoever strength could be independout of Ireland.
