THE VOUCHER STORY.
ANOTHER DENIAL.
[(Fen -Press ‘Association.)
Christchurch, last night. The Departmental inquiry into the alleged breaches of post-office regulations by | Willis, Larcombe, West, and Lundon, did not commence to-day. It is not known when it will commence. The officers charged have not been informed, but have filed their defence. Willis points out again that the inquiry is of no benefit from his point of view, as it will deal only with the alleged breaches of regulations, and not with the real question at issue. Mr B. M. Lichfield, manager of tho Bank of New Zealand at. Ohriatohurch, emphatically denies that any teller of the Bank of New. Zealand had sent a cheque bearing on the' vouchers, and aays he ie ready to confront Willis with the whole staff from the aocouotant to the messenger, each one of whom will deny ever stating to prominent business men that a cheque had been seen and that any business man had ever asked for information oi the kind.
