TRUST LAND BOARD.

MR HARDING AT TOLAGO BAY. PROSPECT OF LAND FOR CLOSE SETTLEMENT. '(Special to Times.) Tolago Bay, last night. Mr J. A. Harding, of the East Coast Trust Laud Board, is here in connection with the payments of the Maugaheia rents. Mr Harding has been very busy during the day with the beneficiaries of tho block, who are very pleased, everything working without a hitch. In fact it may be the means of tbe natives banding over other blocks of land to the Board to administter, as they appaar as be very favorably impressed by the explanation given by Mr Harding on behalf of the Board. Mr Harding meets tho Datives again this evening to further explain matters in connection with tho new blocks of land. The natives are pleased with tbe pay-' meats of rent, bb it is the first they have received for years. Mr Harding received a telegram from Mr Carroll daring the day to the effeot that he was urging the Government to take over land in the district for olose settlement, which would be very valuable for dairying purposes and a boon to the district. Mr W. E. Holder ha 3 been appointed by the Trust Board to pay rents on their behalf.
