MASONIC.
(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, Saturday.
An important Masonic event took plaoe when Lodge Otago Kilwinning, Bcottish Constitution, met for the first time in lodge as No. 143, New Zealand Constitution. M.W.G.M. Brother Burton presided, and in his address said the gross annual income of the New Zealand Grand Lodge was now £3500. Since its inception £IO,OOO had been distributed to those in need, and annuities had been given in seven deserving cases. They had heard rumors that a small minority of Otago Kilwinning Lodge proposed to carry on a lodge in that name, and threats wero darkly uttered as to legal proceedings, He thought such threats foolish, and he hoped brethren of eminence would interpose, and over-rule unconsidered action, of the less wise. The lodge was then duly constituted under the New Zealand charter,
