I In tho Polioe Coart Kong Bing, charged I with being found smoking opinm, was I fined 40s and costs. Accused told a oonI stable that he wae ill and bad to smoke opium. Ab Fee, on tbo same charge, was given the same penalty. Ah Hoy was charged with heving opinm in his posses- | sion suitable for smoking. The oase was dismissed, on tbo ground that ownership Was not proved. Accused was further charged with permitting smoking ia a dwelling occupied by him, aud was fined £5 aud costs. He was also charged with smoking opium and fined 20s and costs. Ah Young, for having opium in his I possession, waß fined £5 and costs. Counsel bad Is added to the fine, so that he might appoal. The same accused was I fined 40s and costa for smoking opium.
