Farther particulars of the recent voloanio eruption In Savali show that residents at Sofaln were awakened by sboeks of earthquake and reports like the firing of heavy guns. The whole place was lighted up, and a fresh orater had broken out. Flames wore shooting up about 4000 feet at in- i tervals of ten seoonds, throwing out big stones and lava. There was no damage to life or property, , ''
