THE TAPANUI MURDER.
A MAN ARRESTED.
'(Per Press Association.)’ Dunedin, last night.
The police have arrested Thomas Stott, said to be a half-caste with Australian aboriginal blood in his veinß, on a charge of being concerned in the murder of Ham Tong Sing at Tapanui.
NUMEROUS ARRESTS BEING MADE.
'(Per press 'Awocia'tion.)' j Dunedin, last night. The half-caste Stott, arrested on suspicion of being ooncerned in the murder of Ham Sing Tong, at Tapanui, was brought before the Court to-day and remanded. He was brought into Dunedin for safe keeping. Stott has been in the district for four years, working as a carpenter and at various odd jobß. He is believed to have been at one time a black tracker. Lata this afternoon a youth of 16 or 17 years,* supposed to be in some way oonneoted? with the crime, was arrested, and it is believed farther arrests will follow.
