A MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR.

The dead body of a male infant was found on the town belt between the City and Roslyn. The poli3e are making inquiries. Auckland, Saturday. Flora McDonald, aged 84, an old ago pensioner, perished in a fire which destroyed her residence at Kuaotunu yesterday. Hangaweka, Saturday. Word was received this morning that a contractor named Simms was killed whilst bushfolling on Gorringe’s property, Upper Kawatu. Palmerston N, Saturday. Geoffrey Read, an employee ib the Royal hotel, a recent arrival in the colony, fell through a skylight on the New Zealand Clothing F ic'ory promises this morning, and sustained a fractured thigh and intestinal injuries. Ho was removed ] to the hospital ia a critical state,
