Melbourne, Aug. 24. Some time ago tbe brewers, raised the price of beer. A number of publioans thereupon started a co-operative brewery and secured large support, lowering the prices. The subsequent battle of prices brought the value down to 57s 6d per hogshead. The Secretary of the Brewers’ Association declared that before the battle ends beer will bo sold at a penny a glass,
