CYCLING ROAD RACE.

The Bathurst to Ashfield road race, 1273miles, was won by MoMahon, fn the actual riding time of 7 hours 23 mins.; arriving seven minutes ahead of Alaopp. Somerville wsa third, Arnst, the New Zealander, met with an accident 80 miles from the start, which spoiled his ohance. v : : 1 Received 8.35 p.m.rAug. 19. Sixty-one started for the race. Great interest was takeu by orowds at the vari* ous points along tho route. Twelve thousand witnessed the finish. Arnst received a nasty wound on the forehead. He pluokily kept going until after passing Mount Victoria, when he had ,to retire, - , , ,•» K .. ■; j Horder, who rode the fastest time, aver* aged 173 miles.
