Hastings, Saturday. _ A painful accidont occurred this morning to Waltor Evorett, who was using a cross-cut saw, and had his hand pulled in. Ho sustained a sevore gash from tho palm across tho first fingor to tho back of the hand, which mado it necessary to have tho first finger amputated. Wellington, Saturday.
