The Gisborne oaptain came to grief over Miss Alison’s stick, and the latter cleverly got her side out of danger. Miss Wynyard further improved the position, and good passing amongst the Moana forwards brought play back to oantre. Several players found it difficult to keep their feet, and spills were the order of the day. Miss Bradley was instrumental in pl'aoing the Moana goal in daugor, but the visitor®’ defence was too solid, the full back again just beating the local captain in the nick of time. Another determined attack, in which the Misses Sherratt were conspicuous, resulted in Miss Wachsmann hittiDg a goal. In the second half the visitors, playing with the wind, gave a muoh better I display, and the ball travelled up and dowD the field at a brisk paoe, Miss I Woodbine Johnson proved a stumbling block to the Moanas’ attack, her splendid hitting powers boing invaluable to her side.
