YOUNG MAN DROWNED.
Thames, Monday. A young man named Piter Youdp, employed at Mr Scotcber’s mil), on the Piako river, met with a fatal accidont ycstirday, about noon. A punt was being towed down the river by a steam ’Lunch to the mill, and deceased, who was in the stern of the punt, wont forward to the how, when Ihe beat gave a lurch, which threw him into the river. One of the men in the launch, named Reid, observed this accident, and afterwards saw deceased throwing his arras about above the water. He did not appear to bo able to swim, but boforo his mutes freui the launch conld reach him he sank. Evory 1 flort possible was made to find him again, but without success.
