Deceased had his trousers and iihirt on when found. It is surmised that he had a seizure, and fell, striking his head against the edge of the verandah. An inquest will be held..
The second annual poultry Bhow was a great success, there being over 400 exhibits. The white leghorn ohampionship for the IJorth Island was won by E. H. Holland. There was an improvement' in numbers and breed over last year. Nelson, last night. The Nelson Chamber of Commerce committee, in considering the Bills before Parliament, expressed approval of the principle in the Accountants Bill that accountants and auditors should be duly qualified and certificated; it also ex pressed a hope that the Fire Brigades Bill would pass, approving of its principles, and it was resolved to request the member for Nelson to use his best endeavors to get the Bill passed.
Dunedin, last night. 1 JAt a meeting of the Presbytery to-day a deputation from Knox Church session recommended that steps he taken to establish in Dunedin, under the auspieaa of the Presbyterian Church, a school for the higher education of girls. It was resolved to appoint a strong committee to consider and report on the matter.
