FISHER EXPOSED.
MR SNEDDON CLEARS CAPTAIN SEDDON.
(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. In connection with Mr Fisher’s charges against Captain Seddon, tbe following letter from Mr Richard Sneddon appears m tho local newspapers:—“Seeing that my name has been brought beforo the public in regard to a Government voucher for £76 4s 9d, receipted by me on June 9th, 1904, tor and on behalf of try employers (Andersons, Limited), I wish to steto emphatically that it had nothing whatever to do with Mr Fisher’s charges against Captain Seddon, or, as he states, I ‘ for reorganising defence stores.’ The j voucher was for iron and steel supplied by I Anderson?, Limited, to tho railway stores .at Addington, and X am continnally sign* ing such vouchers through this firm heTng tbe Government contractors. I know nothing whatover about Bfr Fisher’s assertions against Captain SeddoD, nor did I give any information regarding the voucher.”
STIGMA ON TELEGRAPH OPERATORS.
(Per. Press Association.) Dunedin, last night.
In answer fo a wire from the local secretary of tho Post and Telegraph Association, appealing to Mr Fisher’s sense of justice to immediately remove the stigma from them, the junior member for Wellington wires : “Ido not know an operator in your office. My information did not come from Otago. Shall take the first opportunity of o’earing your staff when in DunediD.” Tho Star eayo editorially it never intended it to be understood that the Dunedin staff was implicated.
