The Consul for Germany has received official advice that the changes desired by Australia in the Marshall Islands will be given effect to on October Ist. Mr Deakin read a cable in the Federal House from Mr Lyttbltcn, announcing receipt by the British Government of a conciliatory German note that facilities would he granted to Messrs Burns, Philp and Co, to lease laud for trading stations at tho Marshalls and Carolines, The Gorman Government wore ulso revising the fiscal legislation in tho Marshalls. The announcement was received with cheering.
