FARMERS’ CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION.
A MISSING SHIPMENT OF BOTTER
(Per Press Association.) Stratford, last night. The annual meeting of shareholders of the Stratford Farmers’ Co-Operativs Association was held to-doy. The balance sheet, which showed a surplus of £3488 iOs lid, was adopted. A stormy discussion arose on tbo alleged neglect of the managing director and auditor in losing Bight of 375 boxes of butter destroyed by fire at the Molucca freezing works. Nothing was known of the loss until mentioned by the firm through which the butler was to have been exported. It was explained that the mistake was made by'a former secretary, who neglected to book the butter when sent out. The chairman of directors, who also acted as managing director, resigned the latter position, and a recommendation was passed by the directors to abolish it. The auditor was re-appointed, A proposal to wind up the company with a view of formiDg two companies was rejected, and a recommendation was carried that the directors snould consign ull export butter in future. Mr R. Dingle was re-elected chairman of directors.
