SOCIALISM.

MR REID AND CARDINAL MORAN

By telegraph. Press Ass’n, Copyright

Received 12.50 a.m., Aug. 1. Sydney, July 31. Mr Roid, m a speech, replied to Cardinal Moran’s reference to socialism. Ho believed in a gentleman belonging to the Church keeping out of politics, but if they came into politics they must not be treated differently to other men. In the four branches of socialism mentioned by Cardinal Moran, he had omitted Australian socialism. He spoke of Australian democracy as if that were Australian socialism. That was a fallacy.
