Sydoey, July 29. Tho Japanese Consul’s advices regarding the operations at Sagbalien state that a squadron under Admiral Kataoka landed an army on tho 24th noar Alcova. The Bussiaoa burned tho town, and tried to nre the wharf at Alexandrovsk, but were driven off. The army advancing, the enemy fled. Tho Japanese successively, occupiod tho first, second, and third positions at Alcova, Mugate, and Alexanarovsk, and drove the Russians out, the Latter showing little resistance.

London, July 29. The submission of the Russians drives from Alexandrovsk and Soghalien is imminent, completing the occupation o Saghajion. The Russians are now isolated 30 miles south-east of Alexandrovsk. Kataoka reports that after the capture of the lighthouses near Poit Deoastu, the squadron silenced four guns on Siberian Alexandrovsk, on the mainland. The retreating Russians fired Siberian Alexandrovßk, ond blew up the magazine.
