According to Acting-Consul General for Germany there are no grounds for the statement that the German government had declined to give effect to representations made regarding trade restrictions in the Marshall Islands. As far as his information wont the matter had been settled. He knew the whole system of laws in the Marshalls had been altered, and would be put in operation on October Ist. These new laws would bo in accordance with Australia’s wishes, so that everything pointed to a satisfactory settlement of the difficulty.
