COURT CASES.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. Michael O’Neil, a former tram conductor, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to having stolen £47 4s 6d from the funds of the Auckland Eleotric Tramway Employees Siok and Accident Society, of which he was treasurer. The police stated that since aooused had been arrested he had given every assistance to ascertain the deficiency. Ho was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
Pahiatna, last night. At the Court, John Singleton was fined £5, or a month’s imprisonment, for supply* ing liquor to a prohibited person. Singleton was under the influence of liquor. The Magistrate, Mr James, was congratu. lated on his extended jurisdiction, which it was staged would be of great convenience to the district. Woodville, last night. A young woman named Matilda McLellao was charged this morning before the S.M. Court- with cattle stealing at Kumeroa. The girl when arrested said she bought the cattle from a man on the road for 30s each, and drove them to Pahiatua, wberß she sold them for 50s each. She withdrew her statement as to buying the cattle from a man, and pleaded guilty. She was committed for sentence at fbe Supreme Court, Wellington, on the gist inst., find was admitted to bail.
