PURCHASE OF COALFIELDS

Hamburg advices confirm the purchase of the Whitworth coalfield, containing 400,000,000 tons of coal, half being steam coal, by a syndicate styled tho English Company, Limited, which simultaneously acquired a controlling interest in twelve of tho largest Russian coalfields. The capital is half a million, issued in London.
