No oxtra charge is to bo made for admiasicin to the ground, while ladies arn to be admitted Lee. The game should be a good one, and, given fine weather, there should be a large attendance of the puhlic. In conseijnonco of this match, tha West End v. H.uia fixture will bo postponed till the following Saturday, but the junior matches will bo continued as usual.

There is at present on view at Mr S. MoLernon’s, Gladstone road, a very handsome shield presented to the Gisborno Bowling Chub by the president, Mr J. A. Hardiug. The background of the shield is of rich mottled kuuri, tho centre being of puriri beautifully borderod with rewarewn. Included in the silver decorations aro silver ferns with true-lovor’s knot, whilst the foot of tho shield is also beautifully tipped with silver. A number of pretty pl.tos are loft for the names of tho successful players. The inscription, “ The Gisborne Bowling Club,” is worked in silver, and there are several artistic designs above and below. A space is left for a bowling emblem. The shield was yesterday inspected by a : largo number of bowlers, who wore highly delightod at having such a valuable trophy for competition.
