ACCIDENT TO COAST COACH.

I Our Wbangara correspondent wrote on Thursday last : The ToUgo Bay mail coach had an ubI pleasant experience to-day. When crossI ing tbe Pouawa creek tbe first of two J coaches stuck fast in tbe centce of the I stream. A few willing travellers and a Maori with draught horses who happened to bo gathering beach wood came to the rescue, conveying the passengers ashore on I horseback and otherwise lightening the cargo. The coach was ultimately got out after everything was soaked, and the tide Joo high to proceed. A good number of passengers, principally worneD, had a long and cold wait in the coach, which certainly could have been prevented if the ordinary precaution had been taken of starting an hour earlier from town, especially at this season of the year.
