In the Mouse of Lords, in a discussion arising on.Mr Balfour’s statement, cablsd on-May 12th, that Lord Roberts declared the army was as unfitted and unprepared for.war'as In 1899. sad emphasised the insufficient musketry practice and lack of sufficient efficient reserves, Lord Lansdowno declared that the Defence Committee was determined to maintain auxiliary forces of both ibe strength and efficiency to render them fit for their duties.
