I Jj i 3 pleasing to state that to havo a I vessel of any description aehoro in the I vicinity of Gisborne is a novolty, as was I ovidenood yesterday by the stream of | people which kept op morning, noon, and | night to the bench, near whore the Towers lis lying in the sand. At low water one eoald walk around the vessel, while at high water her position was fairly «teady, and not resulting in any damage. Some perishable cargo was taken off at low tide, and it is thought that when the vessel is lightcned she esn be refloated without great difficulty. J.t is expected that a. largo portion of She oargo will be discharged this morning while the tide ie low. j The wood and copper sheathing on tbs | vessel w*t considerably knocked about, *nd further evidence of the buffeting she rs- j oeived was seen in the state of her deck I gear. The bridge supports on the Bbar- | board side bad carried away, one of these consisting of » bur of railway iron being I snapped asunder, and the railings and I fittings were mere or le6s damaged. j
